According
to customs statistics, in December 2018, China's titanium dioxide imports were
13,905.98 tons, a decrease of 5.05% year-on-year and a decrease of 23.56%. The
cumulative imports from January to December were approximately 209,200 tons, a
decrease of 2.7% year-on-year.
In
December 2018, the market for titanium dioxide was sluggish, and the overall
market price fell by 62,446.31 tons of titanium dioxide in December 2018, a
decrease of 29.16% year-on-year and a decrease of 10.77%.
The
top three countries exported in December 2018 were India, Brazil, and South
Korea, accounting for 11%, 10%, and 6% of total domestic exports. At present,
the domestic export countries of titanium dioxide are still mainly based on
developing countries, and the proportion of developed countries is increasing
year by year.
With
the improvement of our titanium dioxide quality and price advantage combined
with the shrinking of foreign production capacity, China's titanium dioxide
export volume has continued to record high in recent years. According to TDD
data, the total export volume from January to December 2018 was about 907,200
tons, a year-on-year increase. 9.18%, the annual export volume reached a new
high.
Now,
near the Chinese Lunar Spring Festival plus the current low price of titanium
dioxide market, some titanium dioxide manufacturers began to enter the
maintenance control inventory in advance, the overall pressure on the market
inventory is not large, it is expected that the price will be stable in the
near future.
